Agender Pride Flag

The Agender Pride flag was created in 2014 by Salem X, who is agender. The flag’s monochromatic stripes combined with a bold central green stripe symbolize genderlessness, neutrality, and identities existing outside the traditional gender binary.

Agender people identify as having no gender, being gender-neutral, gender-free, or experiencing little to no connection to traditional concepts of gender. While many agender people fall under broader nonbinary and transgender umbrellas, personal identity labels remain deeply individual and may differ from person to person.

The flag’s design reflects both the absence of gender and the existence of identities outside binary gender systems.

• Black & White — Absence of gender
• Gray — Partial or semi-genderlessness
• Green — Nonbinary genders and identities outside the binary

The green stripe was intentionally chosen because green exists as the inverse of purple, a color often associated with mixed or combined genders, helping symbolize identities beyond traditional gender structures altogether.
