Aromantic Pride Flags

Aromantic people experience little or no romantic attraction to others. Some aromantic people may still experience sexual attraction, while others may also identify on the asexual spectrum. Aromantic identity exists across a wide range of personal experiences and relationships, including strong platonic bonds, queerplatonic relationships, and other meaningful forms of connection outside traditional romantic expectations.

The Aromantic Pride flag was created by Cameron (@cameronwhimsy) in 2014 and features five horizontal stripes representing the aromantic spectrum and the importance of friendship, community, and identity.

Stripe Meanings

• Dark Green — Aromantic identity
• Light Green — The broader aromantic spectrum
• White — Platonic love and friendship
• Gray — Gray areas within romantic and sexual attraction
• Black — Sexuality spectrum and diversity of experiences

Green was intentionally chosen as the primary color because it sits opposite red on the color wheel, symbolically distancing the flag from traditional cultural associations with romantic love.
